Tea Reviews:
Starbucks - Vanilla Rooibos Latte

This was my first experience with rooibos tea.  It had been on my list of things to try for a while, so when Starbucks came out with a ready-made rooibos drink, I gave in and tried it.

To be honest, I didn't really like it the first time.  It was an odd jumble of flavors, and I couldn't quite wrap my head around it.  But, after finding that I liked just plain rooibos, I came back and gave this drink another try.

With much better results, thankfully.  I can now start to pick apart all the things that I'm tasting.  There's a bit of tang from the rooibos, the sweet vanilla, and a definite fruity taste. (I think they said that there's apple in this, so I'd bet that's it.)  Plus, the creaminess of the milk.  All in all, it's a rather good combination.

Another option is, of course, to order the latte without milk.  That way, you just get the nice full leaf teabag, the syrup, and the water.  When made this way, I can taste the rooibos more.  And oddly, the fruity flavor is greatly reduced.  It's very yummy.  I'm not quite sure which way I prefer; both with and without milk, it's a lovely tea.

In short:  Nice, sweet-fruity-creamy tea, though you may have better luck with this if you already like rooibos.
